Job summary

Kidzs Edustore in Malaysia is seeking a dedicated educator to conduct individual and small-group learning sessions for children with special needs, planning activities aligned with each child’s learning and developmental needs.

You will support development in communication, social skills, learning, and self-help, adapt methods to different abilities, monitor progress, and work with a multidisciplinary team to create a calm, positive learning environment.

Qualifications

• Diploma/Bachelor's Degree in Special Education, Education, Early Childhood Education, Psychology or related field.
• Experience with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) or other special needs is advantageous.
• Patient, calm and empathetic personality.
• Fresh graduates welcome; training and guidance provided.

Responsibilities

• Conduct individual and small-group learning and intervention sessions for children with special needs.
• Plan and implement structured activities according to each child's learning and developmental needs.
• Support children's development in communication, social skills, learning, behaviour, self-help and independence.
• Adapt teaching methods and activities according to the child's ability, learning style and developmental level.
• Monitor and record children's progress throughout intervention sessions.
• Prepare appropriate teaching materials, visual aids and learning activities.
• Manage classroom and children's behaviour in a calm, positive and structured manner.
• Work closely with Behavioral Therapists, Psychologists, Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists as part of the multidisciplinary team.
• Maintain a safe, positive and child-friendly learning environment.
• Participate in training, case discussions and professional development activities.
• Follow the centre's SOPs, intervention guidelines and documentation requirements.

• Patient, calm and empathetic, especially when handling children who may have tantrums, crying, refusal or challenging behaviours.
• Creative and able to adapt teaching activities according to different children's needs and abilities.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
