Job summary

Qbonics (M) Sdn Bhd in Johor, Malaysia is seeking a Purchasing Specialist to manage sourcing of electronic components, PCB/PCBA materials, and other production supplies. The role focuses on RFQ handling, supplier evaluation, and developing local and international suppliers, including China.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Electronics/Electrical Engineering, Supply Chain, Procurement, Business or related field.
• Experience in PCBA, EMS or electronics manufacturing preferred.
• Familiarity with electronic components, BOMs and manufacturer part numbers.
• Ability to join immediately or on short notice preferred.

Responsibilities

• Source and procure electronic components, PCB/PCBA materials, mechanical parts and other production materials.
• Handle RFQs and evaluate supplier quotations based on pricing, lead time, quality, availability and commercial terms.
• Source and develop new suppliers locally and internationally, including suppliers in China.
• Negotiate pricing, MOQ, payment terms, lead times and delivery schedules.
• Manage purchase orders and follow up with suppliers to ensure timely delivery.
• Monitor component availability, shortages, long lead-time items and potential supply risks.
• Identify alternative sources and cost-saving opportunities while maintaining specifications and quality.
• Work closely with Engineering, Production and Sales teams on material requirements, BOMs and customer projects.
• Maintain supplier relationships and evaluate supplier performance.
• Support urgent sourcing requirements and resolve purchasing or supply-related issues when required.

About the Role

We are looking for a Purchasing Specialist to join our electronics manufacturing operations in Johor.

This position is suitable for candidates with purchasing experience in the PCBA/electronics manufacturing industry, as well as candidates with an Electronics Engineering background who have relevant industry or purchasing experience.

Experienced purchasing professionals are strongly encouraged to apply. Candidates with fewer years of purchasing experience but who have relevant exposure to the electronics or PCBA industry are also welcome to submit their applications.

The salary package will be offered based on the candidate's relevant experience, technical knowledge and capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

Source and procure electronic components, PCB/PCBA materials, mechanical parts and other production materials.

Requirements

Diploma or Degree in Electronics/Electrical Engineering, Supply Chain, Procurement, Business or a related field.

Candidates with experience in PCBA, EMS or electronics manufacturing will be highly preferred.

Candidates with an Electronics Engineering educational background and relevant industry experience are also encouraged to apply.

Prior experience in purchasing, sourcing, component procurement or supplier management is an advantage.

Familiarity with electronic components, BOMs and manufacturer part numbers will be highly advantageous.

Able to understand and compare supplier quotations, lead times, MOQ and pricing.

Good negotiation, communication and problem-solving skills.

Resourceful and able to independently identify and develop new sources.

Candidates who can join immediately or within a short notice period will be given preference.

Must be willing to work in Johor, Malaysia.
