Job summary

Alliance Contract Manufacturing Sdn Bhd in Malaysia seeks a sourcing/procurement professional to develop and qualify suppliers, support new product launches, and drive cost optimization across the supply chain.

You will monitor supplier performance, manage RFQs and LTAs, and work with SQE to address quality and delivery issues while maintaining ERP data integrity.

Qualifications

• 2–5+ years in technical sourcing, procurement or supplier quality in manufacturing.
• Ability to read mechanical/electrical drawings and understand processes.
• Proficiency in Excel, SAP and data analysis frameworks.
• Strong negotiation and cross-functional communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain data integrity in SAP/ERP, manage BOMs and purchasing modules.

Job description

This role involves supplier development, qualification, and management within a manufacturing environment. You will identify and evaluate new vendors, support new product launches, drive cost optimization, monitor supplier performance, and ensure supply chain continuity through strategic sourcing and risk mitigation.

Key responsibilities

Identify, evaluate, and qualify new vendors through technical assessments, process audits (e.g., SESPA, PPAP), and factory visits

Partner with internal design and engineering teams to support new product launches, component selection, and risk mitigation

Drive cost-out projects, manage Request for Quotations (RFQs), analyze commodity pricing, and negotiate commercial terms or long-term agreements (LTAs)

Monitor supplier QCDS (Quality, Cost, Delivery, Service) performance, manage corrective actions (CARs), and work with Supplier Quality Engineering (SQE)

Track lead times, monitor market trends, manage inventory/safety stock levels, and implement risk-mitigation or dual-sourcing strategies

Maintain data integrity within enterprise systems like SAP or other ERP platforms (managing BOMs and purchasing modules)

About you

2 to 5+ years of experience in technical sourcing, procurement, or supplier quality within a manufacturing environment (multinational background preferred)

Ability to read mechanical/electrical drawings, understand manufacturing processes (machining, plastic injection, metal forming), and apply value engineering

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, ERP/MRP systems (SAP), and data analysis frameworks

Strong negotiation, cross-functional communication, and analytical problem-solving skills
