Job summary

GenTech AI Sdn Bhd in Kuala Lumpur seeks a hands-on Solution Architect to design practical AI and cloud solutions and guide implementation from proposal through go-live.

You will work with customers, Sales, Product and Engineering to understand business needs, craft architectures, and lead technical discussions, demonstrations and deployment activities. A strong background in cloud platforms and APIs is essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in solution architecture, software engineering, technical consulting or cloud solutions.
• Ability to lead customer meetings and present to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong understanding of APIs, databases, system integration and cloud deployment.

Responsibilities

• Lead customer discovery to understand processes and integration needs.
• Translate requirements into AI & cloud solution architectures (AI agents, workflow automation, APIs, cloud infra).
• Lead technical presentations and solution walkthroughs with customer teams.
• Collaborate with Sales to prepare proposals, scope, effort estimates and approaches.
• Assess feasibility, risks, trade-offs in cost, performance, security and scalability.
• Develop architecture diagrams, integration specs and technical docs.
• Guide developers and cloud engineers during implementation and validation.
• Support proofs of concept and demonstrations showing the solution meets requirements.
• Provide technical leadership for cloud deployments, migrations and infra upgrades.
• Work with project managers to manage technical scope and go-live.

Solution Architect — AI & Cloud Solutions

About the Role

GenTech AI is looking for a Solution Architect who combines strong technical expertise with the confidence to lead customer discussions.

You will work closely with customers, Sales, Product and Engineering teams to understand business needs, design practical AI and cloud solutions, and guide implementation from proposal through go-live. This is a hands-on, customer-facing role for someone who can explain technical concepts clearly and take ownership of the proposed solution.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead customer discovery sessions to understand business processes, technical requirements, existing systems and integration needs.
• Translate requirements into solution architectures covering AI agents, workflow automation, enterprise applications, APIs and cloud infrastructure.
• Lead technical presentations, solution walkthroughs and discussions with customer business and IT teams.
• Work with Sales to prepare proposals, technical scope, effort estimates, assumptions and implementation approaches.
• Assess feasibility, identify dependencies and risks, and explain trade-offs in cost, performance, security and scalability.
• Develop architecture diagrams, integration specifications and technical documentation.
• Guide developers and cloud engineers during implementation, review technical designs and resolve solution-level issues.
• Support proofs of concept and technical validation to demonstrate that proposed solutions meet customer requirements.
• Provide technical leadership for cloud deployments, migrations and infrastructure upgrades.
• Work with project managers to manage technical scope and support testing, go-live and handover.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of relevant experience in solution architecture, software engineering, technical consulting or cloud solutions, including experience leading technical designs.
• Proven ability to lead customer meetings, gather requirements and present solutions to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong understanding of application architecture, APIs, system integration, databases and cloud deployment.
• Hands-on experience with at least one cloud platform, such as Alibaba Cloud, Huawei Cloud, AWS, Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud.
• Experience guiding engineering teams and delivering solutions into production.
• Ability to balance customer expectations with technical feasibility, budget and delivery timelines.
• Strong communication, problem-solving and documentation skills.
• Willingness to stay hands-on with technical investigation, prototyping and troubleshooting when needed.

Good to Have

• Experience with AI agents, LLM applications, RAG or workflow automation.
• Exposure to enterprise systems such as ERP, CRM, HR or finance platforms.
• Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD and cloud security practices.
• Experience delivering cloud migration or modernisation projects.
• Relevant cloud or architecture certifications.
