Job summary

HAG Solar Sdn. Bhd. in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah is seeking a Solar PV Designer to design and prepare technical documentation for residential and commercial PV projects.

You will conduct site assessments, size systems, develop layouts and SLDs, and ensure compliance with electrical standards. The role requires a degree in Electrical/Electronic or Renewable Energy, hands-on AutoCAD experience, and familiarity with PV design tools such as PVsyst and HelioScope.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's in Electrical, Electronic, Renewable Energy or related field.
• 1–3 years in solar PV design; fresh graduates encouraged.
• Proficient in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office.
• Familiar with PVsyst, HelioScope, SketchUp or equivalent.
• Strong analytical and drawing skills.
• Good communication and teamwork.
• Willing to travel to project sites.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop solar PV systems for residential and commercial projects.
• Conduct site assessments and evaluate project feasibility based on site conditions and electricity consumption.
• Prepare solar PV system layouts, panel arrangements, electrical schematics and SLDs.
• Perform solar PV system sizing, calculations and energy generation estimates.
• Prepare technical drawings and other relevant project documentation.
• Select suitable solar panels, inverters, mounting structures and other system components.
• Ensure all designs comply with applicable electrical standards, safety requirements and regulatory guidelines.
• Coordinate with project, installation and sales teams to ensure smooth project execution.
• Provide technical support during installation, testing and commissioning.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Management.
