Job summary

Oriental Fastech Manufacturing Sdn Bhd is seeking a Software Test Engineer to plan, develop, and execute testing for new projects and product development. You will work with software developers, engineers, and cross-functional teams to ensure functionality, reliability and quality before deployment.

The role involves creating test plans, executing functional/integration/system tests, identifying defects, and supporting automated testing.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop and execute software testing activities for new projects and product development.
• Develop and execute test plans, cases, scripts and scenarios based on project requirements.
• Perform functional, integration, system, regression and performance testing.
• Identify, document and track defects until closure.
• Analyze test results and report on software quality and project status.
• Collaborate with developers, engineers and cross-functional teams to troubleshoot issues.
• Support automated testing where applicable and maintain test documentation.
• Verify and validate software changes, enhancements and bug fixes.
• Ensure testing activities meet project specs, standards and procedures.
• Support UAT and other validation activities as required.
• Monitor quality metrics and suggest process improvements.
• Coordinate with R&D, Production, QA and IT teams.

Job Summary
Responsible for planning, developing, and executing software testing activities for new projects and product development. The role will work closely with software developers, engineers, and cross-functional teams to ensure software functionality, reliability, performance, and quality meet project requirements before deployment or production release.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and execute software test plans, test cases, test scripts, and test scenarios based on project requirements.

Perform functional, integration, system, regression, and performance testing.

Identify, document, track, and follow up on software defects and issues until closure.

Analyse test results and provide clear reports on software quality and project status.

Work closely with software developers and project engineers to investigate, reproduce, and troubleshoot software issues.

Participate in new project development activities, including requirement reviews, design reviews, testing, validation, and release activities.

Support the development and implementation of automated testing where applicable.

Maintain test documentation, test records, and defect reports in accordance with company procedures.

Conduct verification and validation of software changes, enhancements, and bug fixes.

Ensure software testing activities comply with project specifications, quality standards, and applicable company procedures.

Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and other project validation activities when required.

Monitor software quality metrics and recommend improvements to testing processes.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams including R&D, Engineering, Production, QA, and IT.

Provide technical support during software implementation, deployment, and troubleshooting.

Perform other duties and projects assigned by the superior.

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, or related field.

Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply; relevant experience in software testing is an advantage.

Basic knowledge of software testing methodologies and software development life cycle (SDLC).

Familiar with test case design, defect tracking, and test documentation.

Basic programming/scripting knowledge such as Python, Java, C/C++, or similar is an advantage.

Knowledge of automated testing tools/frameworks is an added advantage.

Good analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.

Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Able to work independently as well as in a cross-functional team.

Willing to support new project development, testing, and troubleshooting activities.

Preferred Skills

Experience with software test automation.

Familiarity with Git/version control.

Knowledge of API testing and tools such as Postman.

Familiarity with Jira or other defect/project tracking systems.

Understanding of CI/CD concepts is an advantage.

Experience in a manufacturing / electronics / automation environment would be an added advantage.
