Job summary

Sophic Automation Sdn Bhd is seeking a Software/Automation Engineer to characterize equipment using Infineon-defined tools and to develop EI solutions for manufacturing environments. You will coordinate with OEMs on deficiencies, collect NOAK data, and prepare test plans and summaries for FOAK/N0AK projects.

The role involves automation improvements across MES, shopfloor systems, and data integration. Ideal candidates have a Bachelor’s in CS/Engineering and familiarity with SECS/GEM, C#, Java,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering or computer science field.
• Experience with semiconductor manufacturing or factory automation is advantageous.
• Strong understanding of shopfloor systems and process data such as Master Data, WIP Tracking, and Material Management.

Responsibilities

• Perform equipment characterization using defined software/tools.
• Coordinate with OEM suppliers for equipment deficiencies and corrective actions.
• Collect and maintain NOAK data for equipment.
• Prepare test plans, execute tests, and produce FEFO/FOAK summaries.
• Develop and implement Equipment Integration (EI) solutions for manufacturing equipment.
• Support and improve EI systems, including patches and bug fixes.
• Analyze production and supply chain processes to identify automation opportunities.
• Support equipment connectivity, system integration, and troubleshooting on the shopfloor.

Job description

Perform equipment characterization using Infineon-defined software and tools.

Coordinate and follow up with OEM suppliers on equipment deficiencies and corrective actions.

Collect and maintain required data for Next-of-a-Kind (NOAK) equipment.

Prepare test plans, execute testing and produce test summaries for First-of-a-Kind (FOAK) equipment.

Develop and implement Equipment Integration (EI) solutions for manufacturing equipment.

Support, maintain and enhance EI systems, including patches, bug fixes and system improvements.

Analyse existing production and supply chain processes and identify opportunities for improvement through automation.

Support equipment connectivity, system integration and troubleshooting within the manufacturing/shopfloor environment.

JOB REQUIREMENT

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Mechatronics or related field.

Preferred Experience: Experience in semiconductor manufacturing, equipment integration, factory automation, MES or shopfloor systems would be an advantage

Good understanding of semiconductor shopfloor systems and processes, including:

• Master Data
• WIP Tracking
• Material Management

Good knowledge of Equipment Integration (EI) concepts and functionalities.

Knowledge of Automation Capabilities Management (ACM) and equipment characterization.

Familiarity with SECS/GEM communication interfaces.

Programming knowledge in C#, Java, XML and XSLT.

Knowledge of middleware technologies such as TIBCO Rendezvous (TibcoRV), MSMQ, webMethods and B2B integration.

Experience working with Windows Server, Unix, Linux and/or Solaris environments.

Knowledge of databases including SQL Server, Oracle and PL/SQL.

Good understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).

Familiarity with documentation/design tools such as Enterprise Architect and Confluence.

Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
