Job summary

Oriental Fastech Manufacturing Sdn Bhd seeks a technically capable engineer to support NPI, process engineering, and manufacturing maintenance in a metal fabrication environment. You will coordinate NPI projects, optimise processes, and assist production teams with technical issues to ensure quality and efficiency.

Fresh graduates are welcome; experience in CNC, stamping, or precision engineering is a plus.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics or Manufacturing Engineering.
• Fresh graduates are welcome; manufacturing experience is a plus.
• Experience in metal fabrication, machining, CNC, stamping, or precision engineering.
• Knowledge of NPI, process validation, PFMEA, Control Plan and Work Instructions.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and execute NPI projects, including design review, prototyping, and pilot runs.
• Support validation activities to meet quality and customer specs.
• Prepare work instructions, process flow charts, and control plans for new launches.
• Develop and standardise manufacturing processes to improve efficiency, quality, and cost.
• Monitor process parameters and recommend adjustments to maintain quality.
• Support root cause analysis and corrective actions for process issues.
• Provide day-to-day technical assistance to production teams for machine/process problems.
• Assist setup and trial runs of machines for new or modified processes.
• Support preventive and corrective maintenance to minimise downtime.
• Coordinate with maintenance to resolve recurring equipment failures.

Job description

This role provides support across new product introduction, process engineering, technical assistance, and maintenance activities in a manufacturing environment. You will assist in coordinating NPI projects, optimising manufacturing processes, providing day-to-day technical support to production teams, and supporting quality and compliance initiatives.

Key responsibilities

Assist in the coordination and execution of NPI projects, including design review, prototyping, and pilot runs

Support validation activities to ensure new products meet quality, performance, and customer specifications

Prepare and update work instructions, process flow charts, and control plans for new product launches

Assist in developing, optimising, and standardising manufacturing processes to improve efficiency, quality, and cost control

Requirements

Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.

Fresh graduates are welcome to apply; candidates with relevant manufacturing experience will have an added advantage.

Preferably with experience or exposure in a manufacturing environment, particularly in metal fabrication, machining, CNC, stamping, or precision engineering.

Basic understanding of manufacturing processes, process improvement, machine setup, and troubleshooting.

Knowledge of NPI, process validation, PFMEA, Control Plan, Work Instructions, and quality requirements is an added advantage.

Good analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Willing to work closely with Production, Quality, Maintenance, and Engineering teams.

Able to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and handle multiple tasks.
