Job summary

Experian is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design, develop, and enhance backend services and user-facing apps for our cloud platform. You will work across the full stack, building scalable microservices and secure interfaces while collaborating with Product, UX, Architecture, and Engineering teams.

You will help deliver features end-to-end, participate in design discussions, and contribute to continuous improvement of engineering standards in a hybrid work environment.

Job Description

Our Platform Services Engineering team builds and maintains the cloud-based applications, RESTful APIs, and shared services that power Experian Software Solutions' products. We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to help design, develop, and enhance both the backend services and user-facing applications delivered through our rapidly growing cloud platform.

In this role, you will work across the full technology stack, building scalable microservices, intuitive web interfaces, and reusable platform capabilities that enable our product teams to deliver exceptional customer experiences. You'll collaborate closely with Product, UX, Architecture, and Engineering teams, applying your software development expertise, system design thinking, and problem-solving skills to create secure, reliable, and high-performing solutions.

What You'll Do

Develop, maintain, and improve core platform services and infrastructure, including provisioning, event-driven services, identity and access management, and shared platform capabilities.

Deliver assigned features end to end, from requirements clarification and technical design through implementation, testing, deployment, documentation, and support.

Contribute to design discussions and break down work into manageable tasks, identifying technical risks, dependencies, and trade-offs.

Build scalable, secure, reliable, and maintainable solutions using cloud-native technologies and DevOps practices.

Collaborate with Product Owners, architects, UX, delivery and support teams, and SRE or Operations to clarify requirements and coordinate delivery.

Troubleshoot service issues, respond to support requests, and contribute to root-cause analysis and improvements that prevent recurrence.

Participate in code reviews, technical demos, and continuous improvement of engineering standards and team practices.

Qualifications

What We're Looking for

• 3+ years of professional software engineering experience building, delivering, and supporting scalable applications using modern development technologies and cloud platforms.

Working knowledge of software engineering principles, object-oriented programming, and common design patterns.

Exposure to AWS cloud platform, APIs, databases, Kubernetes, and common software development tools.

Familiarity with automated testing (e.g. Cucumber, Junit, Spring Boot Test and Mockito) Git, code review, and CI/CD practices.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate issues and learn unfamiliar technologies.

Clear communication and collaboration skills, including the ability to work effectively in an Agile team.

Ability to take ownership of assigned work, seek feedback, and contribute to continuous improvement.
