Job summary

CARiNG Pharmacy Retail Management Sdn Bhd is seeking an entry-level software engineer to develop, test, and maintain web features using Angular on the frontend and Laravel/C# on the backend. You will participate in sprint planning, code reviews, and QA activities while learning from senior engineers.

You will gain hands-on experience with REST APIs, third-party integrations, and AI-assisted tools, within a healthcare-focused platform.

Qualifications

• Diploma/Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 0 to 2 years of professional experience in software development (internship/practical training counted).
• Exposure to PHP/Laravel, C#/.NET, or Angular through coursework, projects, internships, or prior work.
• Candidates strong in at least one of these with willingness to cross-train are encouraged to apply.
• Familiarity with Git and version control workflows (GitLab preferred).
• Understanding of REST API concepts and consuming third-party APIs.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude) is a plus.
• Basic understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) is a plus.
• Eagerness to learn, strong problem-solving mindset, and good communication skills.

Job description

Develop, test, and maintain web application features across front-end (Angular) and back-end (Laravel, C#) under the guidance of senior engineers.

Participate in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and task estimation.

Write clean, well-documented code following established coding standards and best practices.

Strategic Responsibilities

Build foundational understanding of the platform's architecture, integrations, and data flows.

Suggest improvements to code quality, reusability, and development workflows.

Stay current with relevant frameworks, tools, and engineering practices within Laravel, C#, and Angular ecosystems, including emerging AI-assisted development tools.

Work closely with senior engineers, QA, and product stakeholders to clarify requirements and deliver assigned tasks.

Actively participate in knowledge-sharing sessions and team retrospectives.

Ask for help early, document learnings, and contribute to internal documentation/wikis.

Governance / Compliance

Follow secure coding practices and data privacy requirements, especially given the healthcare context of the platform.

Ensure code changes go through proper version control (Git flow), code review, and release processes.

Flag any security or compliance concerns to senior engineers or the tech lead.

Requirements
