Job summary

Apex Pharmacy Marketing Sdn Bhd is seeking a System Engineer II to design, develop, and maintain in-house systems and reporting tools. You will work with the ICT team to ensure uptime, data integrity, and secure operations, translating business needs into solid technical solutions.

Ideal candidates have a CS/IT-related degree and at least 3 years in software development, with VB.Net/C#, MS SQL, and mobile app knowledge. English and Bahasa Malaysia skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS/IT/Systems/Software Eng or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of software development experience.
• Proficient in VB.Net or C# and MS SQL (2000+).
• Knowledge of mobile app development (iOS/Android).
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills; SAP knowledge is a plus.
• Familiar with Windows Server (2000 or newer).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good written and spoken English and Bahasa Malaysia.
• Able to work independently, self-motivated, quick to learn new technologies.
• Understanding of IT governance and cybersecurity frameworks (ISO 27001).

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, implement, and maintain in-house automated systems and reporting tools.
• Monitor uptime and reliability of in-house applications and MS SQL database servers.
• Perform administration and maintenance of the MS SQL database to ensure performance and data integrity.
• Develop and support analytical reports with accurate and timely data delivery.
• Provide end-user support and training on software and hardware-related matters.
• Implement cybersecurity best practices in line with IT standards.
• Assist the ICT Manager in IT governance and information security policies.
• Stay updated on technology trends and recommend improvements to enhance operational efficiency.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

You’ll work closely with the ICT Manager and cross-functional teams to build and support in-house applications, ensure smooth system operations, drive continuous improvements in system performance, functionality, and security.

What you'll be doing

Design, develop, implement, and maintain in-house automated systems and reporting tools, including troubleshooting system issues

Monitor and ensure uptime and reliability of in-house applications and MS SQL database servers

Perform administration and maintenance of the MS SQL database to ensure performance and data integrity

Develop and support analytical reports with accurate and timely data delivery

Provide support for third‑party software applications and ensure seamless system integration

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions

Provide end‑user support and training on software and hardware‑related matters

Implement cybersecurity best practices in line with Group IT standards (CIS CSC / ISO 27001)

Assist the ICT Manager in enforcing IT governance and information security policies

Stay updated on technology trends and recommend improvements to enhance operational efficiency

Perform other related duties as assigned

What we're looking for

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology / Systems, Software Engineering or other related field.

Minimum 3 years of experience in software development

Proficient in VB.Net or C# and MS SQL (2000 or above)
