Astro Malaysia Holdings Berhad is seeking an experienced SAP ABAP Developer to design, build, and maintain ABAP programs that support business processes. You will work on reports, interfaces, and connectivity between SAP components while keeping up with BW, Web Services, and API technologies.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years of SAP ABAP experience, strong data dictionary knowledge, and the ability to write clean, well-documented code.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree in IT/Systems or related field.
• At least 3 years SAP ABAP experience.
• Conversant with ABAP data dictionary.
• Able to write tight code.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.

Responsabilidades

• Develop and maintain ABAP programs (reports, interfaces, layouts).
• Keep up with ABAP/BW/Web Services and API connectivity.
• Familiar with SAP development tools (SE80/SE38/SE37/SE93/SE24).
• Experience with RICEF/W objects: Reports, Interfaces, Conversions, Enhancements, Forms, and Workflows.
• Assist application analysts in translating business specs to technical specs.
• Knowledge of OSS notes and SAP enhancement techniques (BAPIs, BADIs, user exits).
• Coordinate with external BASIS vendor on system health and DB issues.
• Ensure development standards and efficient program design.
• Work independently to research and liaise with consultants.
• Provide ABAP support during SAP upgrades and regional roll-outs.
• Perform development/data extraction and BW data preparation.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

What You’ll Do:

1. 1. Develop and maintain customised ABAP programs which support the business. These would include, but is not limited to reports, upload/download programs, interfaces and layout sets.
2. 2. To keep up with new technology on application development / programming work in ABAP/ BW / Web Services as well as other technical areas such as API, DMEE and connectivity setup between systems eg. RFC
3. 3. Familiarity with SAP development tools such as SE80, SE38, SE37, SE93, SE24, etc.
4. 4. Experience with RICEF/W objects: Reports, Interfaces, Conversions, Enhancements, Forms, and Workflows
5. 5. Assist application analysts in developing functional specifications so that they are convertible to technical specifications where required
6. 6. Knowledge and experience in applying OSS notes
7. 7. Knowledge of SAP enhancement techniques (BAPIs, BADIs, user exits, enhancement spots).
8. 8. To work closely with external BASIS vendor on ensuring system health and DB issues are resolved in a timely manner.
9. 9. To always uphold development standards and ensure efficient program design.
10. 10. Work independently to find solutions, be it doing research, or liaising with consultants and other external parties.
11. 11. Provide ABAP and similar support when major changes are instituted, such as SAP upgrades and regional roll-outs.
12. 12. Perform the necessary development / data extraction, staging and presentation for BW
13. 13. Challenge solutions provided by external consultants on best practices and ensure compliance to technical guidelines.
14. 14. Participate and Support new SAP projects/initiatives, performing tasks such as: Writing technical specs; Carry out ABAP coding work; Conduct testing; Conduct technical training where required on system interfaces; Help perform data migration.

SAP Functional/Technical Support

1. 1. To recognize if programs need to be fine tuned
2. 2. Constantly research for latest SAP development tools
3. 3. Assist technology team in the areas of troubleshooting as required
4. 4. Assist in user id cleanup
5. 5. Assist functional team in authorization maintenance
6. 6. Facilitate system improvements and enhancements that would minimise manual operations.

Data & System Integrity

1. 1. Support data cleansing and corrections in SAP/ Esker arising from operational issues.

REQUIREMENTS: Who You Are:

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology/Systems or related field
• At least 3 years SAP experience in the area of ABAP Development
• Conversant with ABAP data dictionary
• Sound programming principles and be able to write “tight” codes.
• Possess excellent analytical, communication, presentation and soft skills
• Able to communicate well in English
• Able to write clearly and concisely and work within tight deadlines
• Able to work extended hours when necessary
• Possess personal attributes such as maturity, interpersonal skills, professional integrity and initiative
• Challenges change requests for ABAP to ensure they are practical and in line with std SAP where possible
• Keen to learn, a team player and have good working attitude
• MS Office (Excel, Word, Project, PowerPoint, Access, Visio) skills
• Major challenges: Meeting demands of users and delivering requested changes on time; Ensuring programs coded are easy to maintain and well documented and programs are written with comments.
