Job summary

S P Setia Berhad is seeking a senior software developer to design, build, and optimize enterprise web applications using Laravel. The role emphasizes API integration, CI/CD, and AI-powered features to drive digital transformation.

The ideal candidate holds a CS/IT degree with 5+ years of software development experience, including 2+ years with Laravel, and will work from Setia Alam, Malaysia, with exposure to cloud tech and modern coding practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS, SE, IT, or related field.
• 5+ years in software development with at least 2 years in Laravel.
• Experience with RESTful APIs, CI/CD, Git, SQL, and Agile methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and enhance enterprise web applications using the Laravel Framework and modern software development tools.
• Analyze business requirements and translate them into scalable, secure, and efficient technical solutions.
• Integrate applications with enterprise systems through APIs, web services, webhooks, and database integrations.
• Design and implement GenAI-powered solutions, including GenAI-assisted applications, chatbots, workflow automation, and other digital initiatives to improve business productivity.
• Ensure application quality through testing, code reviews, performance optimisation, troubleshooting, and secure coding practices.
• Manage source code, CI/CD pipelines, application deployments, system enhancements, and production support.
• Evaluate and adopt emerging technologies, AI tools, frameworks, and Low-Code/No-Code platforms to improve development efficiency and innovation.
• Collaborate with business users, vendors, product owners, and cross-functional teams to deliver digital transformation projects within agreed timelines.
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation, user guides, and system specifications.

Job description

Analyse business requirements and translate them into scalable, secure, and efficient technical solutions.

Integrate applications with enterprise systems through APIs, web services, webhooks, and database integrations.

Design and implement AI-powered solutions, including GenAI-assisted applications, chatbots, workflow automation, and other digital initiatives to improve business productivity.

Ensure application quality through testing, code reviews, performance optimisation, troubleshooting, and secure coding practices.

Manage source code, CI/CD pipelines, application deployments, system enhancements, and production support.

Evaluate and adopt emerging technologies, AI tools, frameworks, and Low-Code/No-Code platforms to improve development efficiency and innovation.

Prepare and maintain technical documentation, user guides, and system specifications.

Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.

Minimum five (5) years of experience in software application development, including at least two (2) years of hands-on experience with the Laravel Framework.

Experience in enterprise web application development, RESTful API integration, CI/CD, Git, SQL databases, and Agile methodologies.

Experience with GenAI-assisted coding tools (e.g. GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code, Gemini CLI) and AI application development is preferred. Exposure to Low-Code/No-Code platforms and cloud technologies will be an added advantage.
