Job summary

Kardex Malaysia Sdn Bhd in Kuala Lumpur is seeking a motivated Software Consultant to join the New Business Team of the Remstar Business Unit. The role focuses on ensuring software scope aligns with customer requirements and extends to the Realisation team for successful deployments on-site.

The candidate collaborates with solution design and project management, supports discussions with stakeholders, and leads software setup and configuration across projects.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or IT.
• At least 5 years on-site software implementation experience.
• Knowledge of logistics processes (WMS) and ERP systems.
• Exposure to intralogistics processes.
• Excellent technical writing skills.
• Familiarity with SQL databases.
• Understanding of networks and troubleshooting.
• SAP/ERP knowledge is beneficial.
• Microsoft Office including OneNote.
• English - fluent (both spoken and written).
• Willingness to travel domestically.

Responsibilities

• Participate in discussions with stakeholders to understand business, software and system requirements.
• Study, review and understand customer's process, operations, practices and requirements, translate them to the best fit software application.
• Analyse and define software configuration based on project requirements.
• Understand, develop and document Software Functional Description.
• Lead and implement software setup, configuration and rules according to project requirements.
• Document all software application requirements, including definition, process flow & design, implementation and testing to required standards.
• Document issues and provide regular status and progress towards project milestones.
• During and post software implementation, diagnose, identify errors/bugs and fix them.
• Participate in testing and commissioning of the project at customer sites.
• Ensure that the project is implemented successfully, meeting user expectations and quality standards within planned schedule.
• Capture and evaluate customer feedback for improvement.
• Adhere to software deployment best practice.
• Collaborate with other project team members to resolve issues and provide guidance on software-related matters.

Job description

Kardex Malaysia Sdn Bhd is seeking a motivated self-starter to join our New Business Team of Remstar Business Unit in the role of Software Consultant, to be based in Kuala Lumpur. This is a Full Time Position, which reports to the Business Operations Manager MY/SG.

As Software Consultant, your role is to ensure the Kardex software scope of our sales opportunities are accurate and aligned with our customer requirements. This role also expands to our Realisation team to ensure the successful implementation and deployment on our customer sites. This role is part of the New Business Team and will collaborate strongly with solution design and project management.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

REQUIREMENTS

• Education: Tertiary qualification in Computer Science, Software engineering or IT discipline
• Minimum 5 years' experience in on-customer-site software related project implementation
• Knowledge and understanding of logistics processes (automation, supply chain, WMS) and software solutions in the warehouse/logistics environment (WMS, ERP- systems) is a must-have.
• Exposure to intralogistics processes is a must-have.
• Excellent technical document writing skills
• Familiarity with and installation of SQL databases
• Understanding of networks and troubleshooting
• Network topology & configuration
• SAP/ERP knowledge is beneficial, but not essential
• Microsoft office suite knowledge including OneNote
• English - fluent (both spoken and written)
• Travel within country
