Job summary

JHM Consolidation Berhad seeks an experienced SMT technician to dismantle, adjust, install and transfer equipment for a new qualification line plus support for process and quality issue resolution. The role requires hands-on AOI/SPI operation, strong SMT process knowledge, and IPC-A-610 familiarity.

Applicants should have a Diploma in Electronics/Mechatronics/Engineering and at least 4 years in SMT manufacturing; Mandarin is a plus for跨-border communication.

Qualifications

• Diploma or technical diploma in electronics/mechatronics/engineering or related field.
• Minimum 4 years of SMT manufacturing experience.
• Experience with AOI/SPI brands (Koh Young, Mirtec, Vitrox).
• Knowledge of PCB assembly standards (IPC-A-610).
• Mandarin language ability is an advantage for supplier/overseas communication.

Responsibilities

• Dismantle, adjust, install and transfer equipment per layout plans for new qualification lines.
• Support production to resolve process and quality issues and machine breakdowns.
• Set up and program AOI/SPI systems; interpret results and optimize inspection parameters.
• Perform quality checks on component placement and soldering quality; collaborate with engineers and QA teams.
• Understand shop floor systems and machine integration with production systems.

Job description

Dismantle, adjusts, install and transfer equipment according to layout plans for new qualification operation line.

Support production in resolution of process issues, quality issue and machine breakdown.

Create profile boards and sets up profile parameters for wave soldering & re-flow oven.

At least 2 processes knowledge of do the programming : router, conformal coating, chip mounter, reflow oven, solder paste printing.

Hands-on experience with AOI (Automated Optical Inspection) and SPI (Solder Paste Inspection) systems.

Set up, program, and debug AOI and SPI machines, interpret inspection results and identify SMT defects and optimize inspection parameters to reduce false calls.

Strong knowledge of SMT processes and common defects (e.g., solder bridging, insufficient solder, tombstoning, misalignment).

Set up and operate Back End machines ( wave soldering, selective soldering, robotic soldering, router, conformal coating & heat staking )

Perform quality control checks to inspect and verify component placements, soldering quality, and overall assembly.

Work collaboratively with engineers and quality assurance teams to improve SMT processes.

Understanding Shop floor system and machine integration between machines and production systems such as system configuration, Industrial internet of things, real time monitoring and so on.

REQUIREMENT :

Diploma in Electronics, Mechatronics, Engineering, or related technical field.

Minimum 4 years of experience in SMT manufacturing.

Experience with common AOI/SPI brands (e.g., Koh Young, Mirtec, Vitrox).

Knowledge of PCB assembly standards (IPC-A-610).

Ability to speak Mandarin is an advantage for communication with suppliers or overseas teams.
