Job summary

JHM Consolidation Berhad is seeking a responsive PCB rework technician to perform PCBA rework and repair per WI/OI, engineering requirements and customer specs.

You will solder/desolder, replace SMD and through-hole components, inspect for proper part numbers and orientation, ensure IPC-A-610 compliance, maintain 5S and FOD controls, and document rework in MES and tracking forms. Immediate vacancies with attractive remuneration.

Job description

Perform PCBA rework and repair according to approved Work Instruction (WI/OI), engineering requirements and customer specifications.

Perform soldering, desoldering, component removal and replacement for SMD and through-hole components.

Operate rework equipment such as soldering iron, hot-air rework station, bottom heater, microscope and fume extraction system.

Perform component replacement including ICs, resistors, capacitors, diodes, transistors, connectors and other electronic components.

Verify the correct component part number, value, polarity/orientation and location before replacement.

Ensure rework activities do not cause pad lifting, PCB track damage, delamination, overheating or damage to adjacent components.

Perform visual inspection of the reworked area and ensure workmanship meets IPC-A-610, IPC-7711/7721, internal and customer requirements.

Follow proper ESD control and PCBA handling requirements throughout all rework activities.

Receive failed PCBAs/modules from the Debug team and perform rework only according to the approved rework disposition/instruction.

Maintain proper identification and segregation of incoming NG, awaiting rework, rework-in-progress and completed units.

Record all rework activities in the required rework/debug tracking form and MES, including component replaced, reference designator, action taken and rework result.

Return completed units to the designated retest/debug/QA process according to the established process flow.

Immediately stop and escalate to Engineer/QA when abnormal conditions such as lifted pads, damaged tracks, PCB burning, blistering or delamination are detected.

Maintain and properly handle rework tools, fixtures, soldering tips, equipment and consumable materials.

Ensure soldering/rework equipment is within required verification/calibration status before use.

Maintain good 5S, cleanliness and FOD control at the rework workstation.

Follow requirements for approved solder, flux, IPA/cleaning materials and other rework consumables.

Support Engineering and Quality in defect investigation, sample rework, validation and corrective-action activities when required.

Participate in required IPC, ESD, soldering/rework and product-specific training/certification.

Support production requirements while ensuring quality and traceability are not compromised by output urgency.
