Job summary

Renesas Electronics in Penang seeks an engineer to enable Smart Factory transformation through automation, robotics, AI, and digitalization. You will lead the implementation of automation initiatives, integrate manufacturing equipment with MES, and develop robust digital solutions.

The role emphasizes collaboration with process, equipment, and IT teams, hands-on automation, data analysis, and a proactive attitude to learn.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Engineering (E&E, Mechatronics/ Mechanical, Computer Engineering) or relevant field
• With strong interest in Automation, Robotics, AI & Industry 4.0
• Problem-solving mindset and willingness to learn and explore
• Hands‑on attitude toward implementing and supporting automation systems
• Good teamwork and communication skills
• Basic programming and data analysis knowledge

Responsibilities

• Lead and support the implementation of Smart Factory and Automation project/ initiatives, including robotic solutions, equipment automation, and process digitalization. Establish the standards and preparing and maintaining technical documentation.
• Develop and drive the integration of manufacturing equipment with factory systems, enabling seamless communication between production equipment, MES, and factory automation platforms.
• Design and develop automation and digitalization solutions with RPA such as Power Automate and write code with common programming language to enable smart manufacturing solution.
• Participate in AI and data analytics project by analyzing manufacturing data, supporting AI model development, transforming production and equipment data into actionable insights for data-driven decision-making.
• Collaborate closely with process, equipment and IT teams to deliver robust and efficient automation solution.

Education
