Job summary

zhonghai construction sdn bhd seeks a Site Surveyor to perform site surveying and setting-out for building projects in Sabah. You will establish grids, coordinates, reference points, benchmarks and elevations following approved drawings, and set-out foundations, columns, beams, slabs and walls to ensure construction accuracy.

You will read and interpret architectural and structural drawings, verify alignment and elevations, and coordinate with the project team to address discrepancies.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Land Surveying, Geomatics, or a related field.
• Fresh graduates with relevant qualifications may be considered.
• Proficient in operating total stations, automatic levels, and other surveying instruments.
• Able to read and interpret construction drawings.

Job description

Carry out site surveying and setting-out works for building construction projects.

Establish building grids, coordinates, reference points, benchmarks, and elevations according to approved drawings.

Perform setting-out for foundations, columns, beams, slabs, walls, and other structural elements.

Conduct levelling and measurement works to ensure construction accuracy.

Operate surveying instruments, including total stations, automatic levels, and GPS/GNSS equipment where applicable.

Read and interpret architectural, structural, and construction drawings.

Verify building alignment, dimensions, positions, and elevations throughout the construction process.

Conduct as-built surveys and record completed construction measurements.

Coordinate with site engineers, project managers, supervisors, and subcontractors to ensure accurate setting-out.

Identify discrepancies between actual site conditions and approved construction drawings and report them to the project team.

Maintain accurate surveying records, field notes, calculations, and reports.

Ensure surveying equipment is properly maintained and used correctly.

Perform other surveying duties assigned by management.

Requirements

Diploma or Degree in Land Surveying, Geomatics, or a related field.

Previous experience in building construction surveying and setting-out works is an advantage.

Fresh graduates with relevant qualifications may be considered.

Proficient in operating total stations, automatic levels, and other surveying instruments.

Able to read and interpret construction and structural drawings.

Knowledge of coordinates, benchmarks, levelling, and setting-out procedures.

Familiarity with AutoCAD and surveying software is an advantage.

Good mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Willing to work outdoors and at construction sites.

Able to work independently and coordinate effectively with the project team.
