MN Power Transmission Sdn Bhd is seeking a Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS) Installation Supervisor in Malaysia to lead on-site assembly, coordinate labor, and ensure strict safety and high-voltage standards. The role involves managing GIS modules, readings of schematics, and direct supervision of local technicians and subcontractors.

The candidate will oversee tool handling, heavy lifting gear, and SF6 gas operations, while maintaining quality records and ensuring regulatory compliance on site.

Qualifications

• Experience supervising GIS installation in high-voltage environments.
• Ability to read and interpret single-line diagrams and LCC schematics.
• Strong focus on safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.
• Experience coordinating with contractors and utility stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Job description

Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS) Installation Supervisor in a Malaysian substation oversees on-site technical assembly, labor management, and safety compliance.

Key responsibilities

Manage primary and secondary GIS equipment

Coordinate with local utilities and contractors

Ensure project handover matches strict high-voltage standards

Oversee on-site technical assembly

Site Supervision and Execution

Lead and coordinate daily on-site assembly, alignment, and mechanical fixing of GIS modules and busbars.

Supervise local workers, electrical technicians, and specialized subcontractors.

Manage tool utilization, heavy lifting equipment, and SF6 gas handling gear.

Read and interpret complex single-line diagrams, layout drawings, and Local Control Cubicle (LCC) schematics.

Quality Control and Testing

Verify component cleanliness and atmospheric conditions (humidity/dust) required for GIS chambers.

Oversee high-voltage electrical testing, contact resistance checks, and gas leakage testing.

Maintain records of torque measurements, gas pressure logs, and routine factory-to-site deviation sheets.

Safety and Compliance

Enforce Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) regulations and local Department of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH) guidelines.

Run daily toolbox talks and manage strict permit-to-work systems for high-voltage environments.
