Job summary

Qualifications

• Qualifications in Engineering, Architecture, Construction or related field.
• SPM/PT3 equivalent or related foundational qualifications.

• Registered SSS / Yellow Book with DOSH.

Responsibilities

Job description

We are seeking an experienced Site Safety Supervisor to join JICORE GROUP INCORPORATED (M) SDN BHD in Manjung District, Perak. This is a full-time position responsible for overseeing workplace safety and health at our construction site. As Site Safety Supervisor, you will be responsible for conducting daily safety inspections, identifying and controlling workplace hazards, ensuring compliance with DOSH and OSH requirements, and promoting safe working practices among workers and subcontractors. This position plays a vital role in maintaining a safe and compliant working environment and supporting the smooth operation of our construction activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct daily inspections of work areas, equipment and workers’ use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
• Conduct regular site walk-throughs and safety audits to identify hazards, unsafe conditions, unsafe acts and emerging risks.
• Identify workplace hazards, conduct risk assessments and ensure appropriate corrective actions are implemented.
• Enforce safety rules and ensure compliance with applicable Department of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH) regulations and Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) requirements.
• Stop dangerous or unsafe work immediately and ensure necessary corrective actions are taken.
• Inspect tools, heavy machinery, fire-fighting equipment and PPE to ensure proper and safe use.
• Lead toolbox talks, daily safety orientations and onboarding sessions for workers and subcontractors.
• Instruct workers on emergency response procedures and coordinate safety drills.
• Promote open communication and encourage workers to report hazards and near misses.
• Investigate accidents, injuries and near misses to identify root causes and recommend corrective actions.
• Maintain accurate safety logs, incident records and compliance reports for management.
• Ensure safety requirements and procedures are properly implemented at the construction site.

Requirements

• Possess relevant qualifications in Engineering, Architecture, Construction or other related fields.
• Candidates with SPM/PT3 equivalent or other relevant foundational qualifications may be considered depending on the applicable SSS training pathway.
• Must have completed an accredited Site Safety Supervisor (SSS) training programme.
• SSS training from recognised institutions such as NIOSH Malaysia or Master Builders Association Malaysia (MBAM) is preferred.
• Must be a registered Site Safety Supervisor (SSS) / valid Yellow Book holder with the Department of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH).
• Good knowledge of workplace safety, hazard identification, risk assessment and safety procedures.
• Knowledge of applicable DOSH and Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) regulations.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills to conduct toolbox talks, safety briefings and worker orientations.
• Able to work closely with workers, subcontractors and site management to ensure safety compliance.
