Job summary

Sea Horse Services Sdn. Bhd. is seeking a Safety Officer in Malaysia to enforce OSHA compliance, conduct toolbox talks, inspections, and HIRARC, and to maintain safety records on a marine infrastructure project.

The role includes coordinating with the Site Agent and Jabatan Kerja Raya (JKR), implementing control measures for marine risks, and ensuring PPE usage and safe work practices at all times. The project “Menaik Taraf Jeti Kargo Kg.

Responsibilities

• Enforce OSHA compliance and site safety procedures
• Conduct toolbox meetings, safety briefings and daily safety inspection
• Identify hazards and perform HIRARC
• Investigate incidents and prepare safety reports
• Implement and monitor site safety and health requirements
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, JKR safety provisions and method statements
• Identify hazards and implement control measures, especially marine risks
• Maintain safety records, permits and incident reports
• Coordinate with Site Agent and JKR on safety matters
• Ensure use of PPE and safe work practices at all times

Project Overview:

The project “Menaik Taraf Jeti Kargo Kg. Tekek, Pulau Tioman, Pahang” is a government infrastructure project under the supervision of Jabatan Kerja Raya (JKR) Malaysia. The works involve upgrading and strengthening an existing cargo jetty to improve safety, durability, and operational efficiency. The project includes marine and over-water construction works carried out in a coastal and island environment. Located on Pulau Tioman, the project requires careful planning around marine conditions and monsoon seasons. All works are executed in accordance with JKR specifications, with strong emphasis on quality, safety, and environmental compliance.
