Job summary

Rafulin Holdings Sdn Bhd is seeking a Safety & Health Officer to assist in implementing and monitoring site safety requirements, ensuring safe work practices and effective risk controls on projects in Shah Alam.

You will monitor daily activities, conduct inspections, coordinate toolbox talks, maintain safety records, and assist in incident investigations under SHO guidance. The role involves ensuring regulatory compliance and continuous safety improvements.

Qualifications

• Relevant qualification in Occupational Safety & Health, Engineering, Construction or related discipline.
• Certification in Site Safety Supervisor competency recognized by regulatory authorities is a plus.
• Minimum 2–3 years of construction/site safety experience.

Responsibilities

• Monitor daily site activities to ensure compliance with OSH and safety standards.
• Conduct routine site safety inspections and identify hazards or unsafe acts.
• Initiate corrective actions and escalate to the SHO when needed.
• Coordinate toolbox meetings and safety briefings with project teams and contractors.
• Maintain accurate safety records and prepare periodic reports for SHO review.
• Support incident investigations, risk assessments and audit preparations.

Job description

To support the Safety & Health Officer (SHO) in implementing and monitoring site safety and health requirements, ensuring safe work practices, effective risk controls and compliance with applicable OSH, company and project requirements.

1. Site Safety & Compliance

• Monitor daily site activities to ensure compliance with applicable OSH requirements, company procedures and project safety standards.
• Conduct routine site safety inspections to identify unsafe acts, unsafe conditions and potential hazards.
• Initiate and follow up on corrective actions for identified safety issues and escalates significant concerns to the SHO.
• Monitor contractors and site personnel to ensure compliance with established safe work practices and safety requirements.
• Assist in hazard identification and risk assessment and monitor the implementation of appropriate control measures.
• Support investigations into incidents, accidents, near misses and safety non-conformities, including identification of root causes.
• Monitor corrective and preventive actions and follow up on timely closure.
• Escalate significant or recurring safety risks to the SHO for further action.

3. Safety Coordination & Awareness

• Conduct and coordinate toolbox meetings, safety briefings and awareness activities.
• Coordinate with project teams, contractors and site personnel on day-to-day safety and health matters.
• Promote and reinforce safe work practices and safety awareness among site personnel.

4. Safety Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain accurate inspection, incident, toolbox and other safety records.
• Prepare periodic site safety reports, statistics and compliance updates for review by the SHO.
• Maintain safety documentation to support audits, inspections and regulatory requirements.

5. Emergency & Operational Safety

• Support the implementation of emergency preparedness and response arrangements at site.
• Monitor compliance with applicable PPE, Permit-to-Work and site safety controls.
• Promptly report serious hazards, unsafe conditions and safety incidents to the SHO.
• Undertake other safety-related duties as assigned by the SHO or Management.

Job Requirements:

• Relevant qualifications in Occupational Safety & Health, Engineering, Construction or related discipline.
• Certification in Site Safety Supervisor competency/registration recognized by DOSH would be an added advantage.
• Minimum 2-3 years of relevant working experience in construction, project or site safety operations.
