EPITEKA ENTERPRISE (M) SDN. BHD. in Butterworth, Penang, seeks an experienced Site Safety Supervisor on a contract basis to uphold health, safety and environmental standards across construction sites.

You will implement safety protocols, conduct risk assessments and drive safety excellence with contractors and on-site teams. You will lead inductions, toolbox talks, incident investigations and maintain records, while liaising with project managers and regulatory authorities as required.

Qualifications

• DOSH Safety and Health Officer certification or equivalent
• 1–2 years of site safety supervision or safety officer experience in construction
• Knowledge of OSHA and CIDB regulations and guidelines
• Experience in risk assessments, hazard identification and safety management systems
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for site interactions
• Proven ability in accident investigation and corrective actions
• Competency in toolbox talks and safety training delivery
• Excellent organisational skills for maintaining safety records and compliance

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular site inspections and safety audits to ensure compliance with Malaysian safety regulations and company policies
• Develop, implement and monitor safety management plans for project-specific risks
• Provide safety induction and training to site personnel, contractors and subcontractors
• Investigate accidents, near-misses and incidents; prepare detailed reports and preventive actions
• Coordinate with project managers, site engineers and workforce on safe work practices
• Maintain comprehensive safety records and permits; ensure documentation is current
• Lead toolbox talks and safety briefings with site teams
• Monitor PPE usage and enforce safety requirements
• Conduct risk assessments and method statements for high-risk activities with controls
• Serve as primary health, safety and environmental contact on site, liaising with authorities as required

About the role

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Site Safety Supervisor to join EPITEKA ENTERPRISE (M) SDN. BHD. based in Butterworth, Penang. This is a contract position that plays a critical role in ensuring the health, safety and environmental compliance of our construction sites. As Site Safety Supervisor, you will be responsible for implementing and maintaining robust safety protocols, conducting risk assessments, and fostering a culture of safety excellence across all construction operations. This position is essential to protecting our workforce and maintaining our commitment to industry-leading safety standards.

Key responsibilities

Conducting regular site inspections and safety audits to identify hazards and ensure compliance with Malaysian safety regulations and company policies

Developing, implementing and monitoring safety management plans tailored to project-specific risks and requirements

Providing safety induction and training to all site personnel, including contractors and subcontractors, ensuring understanding of safety procedures and protocols

Investigating and documenting accidents, near-misses and incidents, preparing detailed reports and implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence

Liaising with project managers, site engineers and workforce to coordinate safe work practices and resolve safety concerns promptly

Maintaining comprehensive safety records, documentation and statistics, ensuring all required permits and certifications are current and accessible

Conducting toolbox talks and safety briefings to reinforce safety awareness and best practices with site teams

Monitoring the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensuring compliance with mandatory safety requirements

Conducting risk assessments and method statements for high-risk activities and ensuring appropriate control measures are in place

Acting as the primary point of contact for health, safety and environmental matters on site, liaising with regulatory authorities as required

What we're looking for

Malaysian DOSH (Department of Occupational Safety and Health) Safety and Health Officer certification or equivalent professional qualification in occupational health and safety

Minimum 1-2 years of experience as a Site Safety Supervisor or Safety Officer in the construction industry

In-depth knowledge of Malaysian Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA) and Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB) regulations and guidelines

Proven experience in conducting risk assessments, hazard identification and developing safety management systems

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with personnel at all levels

Proficiency in accident investigation, incident reporting and developing corrective and preventive action plans

Competency in health and safety training delivery and toolbox talk facilitation

Excellent organisational skills with the ability to maintain accurate safety records, documentation and compliance registers

Valid driving licence and willingness to travel between construction sites as required

Certification in First Aid and CPR is highly desirable

Experience with construction site management software and digital safety reporting tools is preferred
