Job summary

SPCI HELM Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. is seeking an engineer to lead civil and M&E project execution, review drawings and ensure safety and quality compliance.

The role calls for 3–5 years of relevant experience and ability to coordinate with consultants, contractors, and vendors on technical documents and approvals. The candidate should hold a Bachelor’s or higher in Engineering and be familiar with international codes and local regulations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree, Post Graduate Diploma or Professional Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil or M&E).
• 3–5 years of civil and/or M&E project execution & supervision experience.
• Strong SHEQ knowledge and ability to enforce requirements.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to identify and solve problems quickly.
• Ability to work closely with consultants, contractors, and vendors.
• Well-versed in international codes & standards and local buildings regulations, M&E systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop engineering documents such as Layout Plan, shop drawings, datasheets.
• Review P&ID, Schematic, Layout plan, Construction drawings, Isometric drawings, datasheets, ITPs from consultants/contractors/vendors.
• Review Method Statements, JSA and risk assessments on work items.
• Ensure compliance on safety policy and agreed procedures for a safe working environment.
• Prepare RFQ documents including equipment datasheets, BQ, and purchase orders.
• Prepare contractor/vendor quotation evaluation and recommendations.
• Schedule and track contractors/vendors’ progress against master schedule and report on progress.
• Monitor expenditure and payments; verify contractor claims by milestone or progress.
• Attend material/equipment inspections, FATs, site progress inspections, and installation inspections for civil & M&E work.
• Manage and keep records of all documentation, inspections and tests.
• Oversee day-to-day site installation supervision and inspection works per project specs and quality.
• Coordinate with consultants, contractors, internal and external stakeholders for alignments.
• Resolve issues on site and M&E work promptly, discuss discrepancies for alignment.
• Provide support & supervision on building repair work.

Job description

JOB DESCRIPTION

Understand and review engineering documents such as P&ID, Schematic, Layout plan, Construction drawings, Isometric drawings, datasheets, ITP submitted by consultants, contractors and/or vendors to ensure consistency and followed correctly.

Review Method Statement, JSA and risk assessment on work related items.

Ensure compliance on safety policy and agreed procedures to ensure safe working environment.

Prepare RFQ documents including equipment datasheets, BQ, and purchase orders.

Prepare contractor/vendor quotation evaluation and recommendation.

Scheduling and tracking of contractors/vendors’ progress against master schedule and reporting to achieve project deliver on time.

Monitor & forecasting expenditure and payment, verify contractor claim per milestone and/or agreed progress.

Attend material and equipment inspections, factory acceptance tests, site progress inspection, installation inspection for both civil & M&E work.

Manage and keep record of all documentations, inspections and tests.

Oversee day-to-day site installation supervision and inspection works to ensure compliance with project specifications and quality.

Coordinate with consultants, contractors, internal and external stakeholders for alignments.

Resolve issues on construction site and/or M&E work promptly, raised any discrepancy and discussed for alignment promptly.

To provide support & supervision on building repair work.
