Job summary

MRD in Malaysia is seeking an Engineering & M&E Lead to design comprehensive mechanical and electrical systems and supervise on-site installation across projects in Johor Bahru.

The role requires reading complex schematics, coordinating cross-functional teams, and ensuring compliance with local codes. Travel to project sites will be necessary as part of the project management duties.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in mechanical, electrical engineering or related discipline.
• Ability to read and interpret complex engineering schematics, single-line diagrams, and structural drawings.
• Experience managing cross-functional site teams and risk assessments in compliance with local codes.
• Strong communication to coordinate with main contractors, consultants and vendors.

• Engineering & System Design: develop technical specs and blueprints for mechanical assets (HVAC, piping, lifts) and electrical infra (HT/LV, lighting, data networks).
• Site Supervision & Quality Assurance: lead on-site monitoring of M&E installations for contract, safety and structural plans.
• Testing & Commissioning: coordinate functional testing and system validations for energy efficiency and regulatory compliance.
• Problem Solving & Risk Mitigation: address on-site issues and installation conflicts to prevent delays.
• Cost & Supply Chain Management: prepare material and labor estimates, evaluate subcontractor bids, maintain cost control.

What We Are Looking For

• Education: Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Technical Expertise: Ability to read and interpret complex engineering schematics, single-line diagrams, and structural drawings.
• Project Leadership: Demonstrated experience managing cross-functional site teams, carrying out risk assessments, and ensuring strict compliance with local authority codes.
