Prestasi Flour Mill (M) Sdn Bhd (199401031689) seeks an Assistant Silo Operator for raw wheat to support intake, storage, and distribution within our silos. You will operate equipment, monitor storage conditions, and uphold safety and quality throughout handling.

The role covers receiving shipments, coordinating with departments and transporters, sampling grains, maintaining segregation of varieties, performing basic silo maintenance, and ensuring accurate documentation and inventory control.

Job Purpose

As an Assistant Silo Operator for raw wheat at our flour milling facility, you will play a vital role in ensuring the efficient intake, storage, and distribution of raw wheat within our silos. Your responsibilities will include operating equipment, maintaining storage conditions, and upholding quality and safety standards throughout the handling process.

2. Job Responsibilities

Raw Wheat Intake and Inspection:

Receive incoming shipments of raw wheat, conduct initial quality checks, and ensure accurate documentation of deliveries.

To coordinate the receiving activities of wheat with relevant departments, agencies, and transporters.

To collect grain samples for visual inspection.

Silo Operations:

Operate machinery to load, unload and transfer raw wheat into designated silos, ensuring proper segregation and storage.

Monitor and maintain proper segregation of wheat varieties or grades as required.

Observe panel lights for indication of malfunction and adjust conveyors to regulate feed of wheat in/out of silos.

Quality Assurance:

Conduct regular inspections, sampling, and testing to ensure compliance with quality standards.

Quality Control and Maintenance:

Implement measures to maintain wheat quality within silos, including regular inspections and adherence to storage guidelines.

Conduct basic maintenance tasks on silos and equipment, reporting issues promptly for resolution.

Storage / Inventory Management:

Monitoring and maintaining optimal storage conditions within silos, including temperature control and cleanliness, to prevent contamination and preserve wheat quality.

Monitor raw wheat inventory levels, maintain accurate records, and coordinate with relevant teams for inventory control.

Maintenance and Troubleshooting:

Conducting routine checks on silos and associated equipment to ensure proper functionality, promptly addressing maintenance needs, and strictly adhering to safety protocols.

Troubleshoot operational issues and coordinate with maintenance teams for repairs as needed.

Problem-solving

Addressing operational issues related to wheat storage, coordinating with maintenance teams for repairs, and ensuring uninterrupted operations.

Documentation and Reporting

Maintaining comprehensive records, logs, and reports pertaining to raw wheat intake, storage, quality checks, and any incidents or maintenance activities.

To perform any other tasks and assignments as directed by the Superior / Management from time to time.

3. Qualifications, Skills & Experience required for the Position

Basic skills in the use of Microsoft Office i.e. Excel, Words and etc.
