Job summary

Altera Semiconductor Technology (M) Sdn. Bhd. in Penang, Malaysia, seeks a Product Development Engineer to contribute to design, development, and validation of cutting-edge semiconductor products.

You will collaborate with design, validation, and manufacturing teams to define requirements, perform silicon validation, and develop test hardware/software for bring-up and production testing. Strong problem-solving and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
• At least 3 years of experience in product development, silicon validation, or test engineering in semiconductors.
• Proficiency in Python, C++, or Perl for test automation and data analysis.
• Experience with test equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and spectrum analyzers.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with design, validation, and manufacturing to define product requirements and specifications.
• Perform silicon validation and characterization, including test plans, data analysis, and debugging.
• Design and develop test hardware and software for product bring-up, characterization, and production testing.
• Support product development from concept to mass production, including yield improvement and failure analysis.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of product development processes and methodologies.
• Document design, test procedures, and results comprehensively.
• Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies in semiconductor product development.
