Job summary

Altera in Penang, Malaysia is seeking a highly experienced Silicon Validation Engineer to lead post-silicon validation for HPS USB subsystems and related interfaces. You will drive system bring-up, USB protocol validation, and automation across architecture, firmware, and board teams.

The role requires 8+ years in post-silicon validation, strong debugging skills, and proficiency with Python or TCL for automation. Penang-based, regular shift, with collaboration across hardware and software teams.

Qualifications

8+ years of post-silicon validation experience focusing on SoC, HPS, USB, or high-speed I/O subsystems.
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
Strong hardware and software debug skills for complex system-level issues.
Experience with USB protocol analyzers and lab equipment.
Proficiency in Python or TCL for automation.
Familiarity with FPGA SoC architectures and embedded systems is desirable.

Responsibilities

Develop and execute post-silicon validation strategies for HPS USB subsystems.
Perform system bring-up and debug focusing on USB connectivity and protocol compliance.
Create and run test plans for USB validation, interoperability, stress, and corner cases.
Debug silicon issues using protocol analyzers, oscilloscopes, JTAG and USB tools.
Drive root-cause analysis across silicon, firmware, software, and platform.
Develop automation frameworks and regression environments using Python, TCL, Bash.
Collaborate with architecture, firmware, design, and board teams to improve coverage.
Drive innovation in validation methodologies, automation, and infrastructure.
