About the role

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Shop Assistant to join the team at KK SUPER MART Taman Danau Desa (TDD) in Setapak, Kuala Lumpur. This is a full-time position offering an excellent opportunity to become part of the KK Group of Companies (Retail), a leading retailer in the consumer products sector. As a Shop Assistant, you will play a vital role in delivering outstanding customer service and maintaining the smooth day-to-day operations of our retail store. Your contribution will directly impact customer satisfaction and the overall success of our store location.

Key responsibilities

• Greet customers warmly and assist them in locating products and making purchasing decisions
• Process transactions accurately using the point-of-sale (POS) system and handle cash and card payments
• Stock shelves and display areas with merchandise, ensuring products are well-organised and clearly priced
• Maintain a clean and tidy store environment, including floors, shelves and fitting areas
• Monitor stock levels and report low inventory to management to ensure products remain available
• Answer customer enquiries regarding product availability, pricing and features
• Assist with receiving and unpacking deliveries, verifying stock against delivery notes
• Operate the till and maintain accuracy in all transactions
• Comply with health and safety regulations and company policies at all times
• Support promotional activities and help set up displays as directed by management

What we're looking for

• Previous experience working in a retail environment is desirable but not essential
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a genuine passion for customer service
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced retail setting and manage multiple tasks
• Attention to detail and accuracy when handling money and processing transactions
• Physical fitness and ability to lift and carry items, as the role involves standing for extended periods
• Reliability, punctuality and a positive attitude towards work
• Flexibility to work weekends, public holidays and varying shift patterns as required
• Basic numeracy skills and proficiency with point-of-sale systems (training will be provided)
• A friendly demeanour and willingness to go the extra mile for customers
• Malaysian citizenship or valid work permits for non-citizens
