Qualifications

About the role

KK Group of Companies (Retail) is seeking a Shop Assistant to join our KK SUPER MART location in Kuchai Lama, Kuala Lumpur. This is a part-time position that offers an excellent opportunity to become part of a dynamic retail team in one of Malaysia's leading supermarket chains. As a Shop Assistant, you will play a vital role in delivering outstanding customer service and maintaining store operations, contributing directly to the success of our retail operations and customer satisfaction.

What you'll be doing

Assist customers with product enquiries and provide recommendations to enhance their shopping experience

Stock shelves, maintain product displays and ensure merchandise is organised and clearly priced

Operate the cash register accurately and process customer transactions with efficiency and courtesy

Monitor store cleanliness and tidiness, including aisles, shelves and customer areas

Handle stock receiving and verify deliveries against purchase orders

Support promotional activities and merchandise displays as directed by management

Assist with inventory checks and report any discrepancies to supervisors

Maintain compliance with health, safety and hygiene standards throughout the store

Respond promptly to customer concerns and escalates issues to management when necessary

What we’re looking for

Previous retail experience is desirable but not essential; we welcome motivated first-time job seekers

Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced retail environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously

Good communication skills in English and Malay; additional languages are an advantage

Physical fitness for standing for extended periods and lifting moderately heavy items

Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining store standards and cleanliness

Reliability and punctuality, with flexibility to work scheduled shifts including weekends and public holidays if required

Basic numeracy skills and familiarity with point-of-sale systems or willingness to learn

A positive attitude and willingness to work collaboratively as part of a team
