Job summary

OSRAM OS Penang is seeking an experienced Production Shift Supervisor to lead on the shop floor, ensuring safe, stable, and efficient manufacturing. You will coach Supervisors and Production MSes to achieve KPI targets across Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, People, and 5S, while monitoring performance with real-time data and driving continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related field is required.
• Minimum 5 years in production or manufacturing operations with leadership experience.
• Knowledge of production systems, KPIs, Lean and 5S principles; data analysis skills and ERP familiarity.
• Willingness to work night shifts and weekends as needed.

Responsibilities

• Own shopfloor operations for the assigned shift to ensure safe, stable, and efficient production.
• Lead, coach, and motivate Supervisors and Production MSes to meet KPI targets (Safety/Quality/Cost/Delivery/People/5S).
• Monitor production performance using real-time KPIs and escalate issues promptly.
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality, workforce discipline, attendance and 5S.
• Conduct structured shift handovers and communicate status, issues, and risks.
• Execute Line Steering Plan to meet delivery targets across work centers.

Your new responsibilities

• Own shopfloor operations for the assigned shift to ensure safe, stable, and efficient production, meeting shift KPIs and operational targets through timely monitoring and issue resolution.
• Taking up leadership role in assessing, coaching and motivating Supervisors & Production MSes to deliver operation key KPI in a positive manner. Meeting all routine operation KPI‘s (Safety/Quality/Cost/Delivery/People/5S).
• Monitor production performance during the shift using real-time systems and key KPIs (PlanDay, Cycle Time/Flow Factor, On-Hold rate) to ensure shift targets are met and issues are escalated promptly.
• Ensure shopfloor compliance with safety, quality, workforce discipline, attendance and 5S requirements and monitor key indicators such as tardiness, attendance rate, LPA audit results, and shopfloor violations and support for continuous improvement (BIC).
• Conduct structured shift handover meetings and communicate production status, issues and risks to ensure alignment with shift priorities and production plans.
• Execute the Line Steering Plan during the shift and ensure assigned work centers meet delivery targets.

What we look for

• Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years in production or manufacturing operations, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
• Knowledge of production systems and KPIs, Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and 5S principles, Proficiency in data analysis tools and ERP systems. To work night shifts and weekends as needed; strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
