Job summary

ams OSRAM Opto Semiconductors seeks a qualified Production Supervisor to lead shift operations, coach Supervisors and Production MSes, and achieve KPI targets. The role requires strong data analysis skills, Lean/5S knowledge, and ERP proficiency to ensure safe, efficient production.

The candidate will monitor real-time KPIs, uphold safety and quality standards, and manage handovers and line steering to ensure on-time delivery and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing, industrial engineering, mechanical engineering or related field.
• Minimum 5 years in production/manufacturing operations.
• At least 2 years in a supervisory/leadership role.
• Familiarity with Lean and 5S principles; proficient in data analysis tools and ERP systems.

Responsibilities

• Own shopfloor operations for the assigned shift to meet KPIs and targets.
• Coach and motivate Supervisors & Production MSes to deliver KPI targets.
• Monitor production performance and KPIs in real time and escalate issues.
• Ensure safety, quality, 5S, attendance and discipline on the shop floor.
• Lead structured shift handovers and communicate status, issues and risks.
• Execute Line Steering Plan to meet delivery targets.

Job description

The ams OSRAM Opto Semiconductors business offers high-performance opto semiconductor components and in-depth support for state-of-the-art system solutions based on innovative semiconductor light sources. The Business Unit can look back on almost fifty years of production and development expertise.

• Own shopfloor operations for the assigned shift to ensure safe, stable, and efficient production, meeting shift KPIs and operational targets through timely monitoring and issue resolution.
• Taking up leadership role in assessing, coaching and motivating Supervisors & Production MSes to deliver operation key KPI in a positive manner. Meeting all routine operation KPI‘s (Safety/Quality/Cost/Delivery/People/5S).
• Monitor production performance during the shift using real-time systems and key KPIs (PlanDay, Cycle Time/Flow Factor, On-Hold rate) to ensure shift targets are met and issues are escalated promptly.
• Ensure shopfloor compliance with safety, quality, workforce discipline, attendance and 5S requirements and monitor key indicators such as tardiness, attendance rate, LPA audit results, and shopfloor violations and support for continuous improvement (BIC).
• Conduct structured shift handover meetings and communicate production status, issues and risks to ensure alignment with shift priorities and production plans.
• Execute the Line Steering Plan during the shift and ensure assigned work centers meet delivery targets.

• Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years in production or manufacturing operations, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
• Knowledge of production systems and KPIs, Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and 5S principles, Proficiency in data analysis tools and ERP systems. To work night shifts and weekends as needed; strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
