Qualifications

• Chargeman A0/A1 certificate with Energy Commission registration.
• Min. 2 years of facilities/building maintenance experience.
• Ability to lift/carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more and perform physical tasks.
• Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Strong organizational skills and attention to safety standards.

• Review and follow instructions for scheduled and emergency repair, installation, and inspection work.
• Advise when immediate shutdown is necessary to minimize damage or when ongoing operation is safe.
• Dismantle, clean, repair, and replace electrical equipment with safety precautions.
• Perform mechanical repairs related to servicing electrical equipment.
• Install, splice, or replace sections of wire as part of repair or temporary installation.
• Conduct emergency mechanical repairs without other maintenance personnel.
• Follow established procedures to solve straightforward problems under supervision.
• Deliver output by following defined procedures and processes under guidance.

This job is part of the Engineering and Technical Services job function. They are responsible for providing support, preventive maintenance, and repairs on equipment and systems.

What You’ll Do

• Review and follow instructions covering the scheduled and emergency repair, installation, and inspection of work to be done.
• Advise when the immediate shutdown of equipment is necessary to minimize damage, or when temporarily continued operations will have no harmful effect.
• Dismantle, clean, repair, replace, etc. electrical equipment taking all safety precautions.
• Make mechanical repairs as required in connection with the servicing of electrical equipment.
• Install, splice, or replace sections of wire incidental to repair or temporary installation.
• Make emergency mechanical repairs without other maintenance personnel.
• Use existing procedures to solve straightforward problems while having a limited opportunity to exercise discretion.
• Impact through clearly defined duties, methods, and tasks are described in detail.
• Deliver own output by following defined procedures and processes under close supervision and guidance.

What You’ll Need:

• Possess Chargeman A0/A1 certificate and registered with Energy Commission.
• Min. 2 years working experience in facilities or building maintenance.
• Meet the physical requirements of this role including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and the ability to lift/carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more.
• Ability to follow basic work routines and standards in the application of work.
• Communication skills to exchange straightforward information.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
• Strong organizational skills with an inquisitive mindset.
• Basic math skills. Ability to calculate simple figures such as percentages, discounts, and markups.
