Job summary

CHEMTRAX SDN BHD in Johor Bahru, Malaysia, is seeking a SHE Assistant to ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state and local EHS legislation. The role supports our land transport of dangerous gas and chemicals and involves developing Risk Hazard Management (RHM), Job Management Plan (JMP) and risk assessments.

You will conduct drills, inspections and audits, prepare safety reports, lead toolbox talks, train drivers, liaise with DOSH, BOMBA and DOE, and drive accident investigation and

Qualifications

• Minimum SPM or Diploma in any field.
• Possess OSH-C certification.
• Experience liaising with government departments (DOSH, BOMBA, DOE, etc.).
• Ability to conduct investigations on accidents, incidents and near misses.
• Ability to conduct inspections and audits as required by the Safety and Health program.
• Ability to conduct toolbox trainings and train drivers.
• Ability to organize and conduct training regarding safety and health regulations.
• Ability to prepare safety reports and safety related documentation.
• Ability to conduct Safety Committee meetings according to OSHA Act.
• Ability to provide leadership, guidance and technical support to operations management and safety committees.
• Ability to ensure consistency in policies and practices across company facilities.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with legislation governing environmental health and safety.
• Develop RHM, JMP and Risk Assessment.
• Conduct yearly Table Top ER Drill and ON Field ER Drill.
• Develop policies and procedures to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Develop and implement accident investigation, data analysis, and recurrence prevention programs and procedures.
• Conduct on-site reviews and audits of operations and facilities.
• Oversee environmental, health and safety programs and training to ensure safe operations and working conditions.
• Attend incident site and deal with authority and customer matters.
• Conduct accident investigation and reporting for all injuries and close calls, including root cause analysis and corrective action.
• Maintain records concerning Safety and Health matters of the project.
