Job summary

Terberg Tractors Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. is seeking a Service Engineer to lead comprehensive service operations for terminal tractors at major Malaysian ports.

You will drive maintenance, repairs, and customer satisfaction while ensuring safety and quality standards are met. You will engage in preventive and corrective maintenance, coordinate service teams, and work closely with Parts to identify service sales opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Automotive or Mechatronics Engineering or related discipline.
• Strong understanding of prime mover systems and engineering design principles.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with customers, contractors and internal stakeholders.
• Ability to analyze technical issues and implement practical solutions in a fast-paced operational environment.
• Self-motivated, responsible and capable of working independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily service operations to ensure smooth maintenance activities at the port site.
• Lead, coordinate and supervise service teams to deliver maintenance and repair services for terminal tractors.
• Ensure preventive and corrective maintenance following Terberg standards and service quality requirements.
• Maintain strong customer relationships with timely technical support and service updates.
• Analyze service performance, plan manpower, manage work scheduling and optimize resources.
• Ensure timely completion of service work and accurate recovery of service charges.
• Collaborate with Parts team to identify service sales opportunities and deliver value-added solutions.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance service efficiency and reliability.
• Undertake special assignments and projects as directed by Management.
• Ensure ESH compliance through inspections, training, incident management and safety reporting.

Role Overview

As a Service Engineer, you will lead and manage the full spectrum of engineering service operations in accordance with Service & Maintenance Contracts secured by Terberg Tractors Malaysia at major ports across Malaysia. You will play a critical role in ensuring operational excellence, service quality, customer satisfaction, and compliance with safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily service operations to ensure smooth and efficient maintenance activities at the assigned port site.
• Lead, coordinate, and supervise service teams to deliver high-quality maintenance and repair services for terminal tractors.
• Ensure preventive and corrective maintenance activities are carried out in accordance with Terberg standards and service quality requirements.
• Maintain strong customer relationships by providing timely technical support, service updates, and effective solutions to operational issues.
• Analyze service performance, plan manpower requirements, manage work scheduling, and optimize resource allocation.
• Ensure timely completion of service work and accurate recovery of service charges to support revenue preservation.
• Collaborate closely with the Parts team to identify service sales opportunities and deliver value-added solutions to customers.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance service efficiency, equipment reliability, and customer satisfaction.
• Undertake special assignments and projects as directed by Management.
• Ensure full compliance with Environmental, Safety and Health (ESH) requirements through inspections, training, incident management, emergency preparedness, and safety reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
• Strong understanding of prime mover systems, components, and engineering design principles.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage effectively with customers, contractors, and internal stakeholders.
• Ability to analyze technical issues and implement practical solutions in a fast-paced operational environment.
• Self-motivated, responsible, and capable of working independently with minimal supervision.

Language Requirements

Good command of English and Bahasa Malaysia, both written and spoken.
