Job summary

Munich Re Retakaful, part of Munich Re, is seeking an Actuarial Analyst to join the valuation team based in Kuala Lumpur. You will conduct experience studies, support Solvency II, IFRS and local statutory reporting, and monitor treaty performance across global markets.

The role requires a degree in actuarial science or related field, progression towards Fellowship, strong Excel skills, and familiarity with AXIS. Fluency in English and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics or Statistics.
• Fellowship progression with a recognized actuarial body (FSA, FIA, FIAA or equivalent).
• Strong technical and analytical skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent MS Excel skills; advanced functions and modeling ability.
• Knowledge of VBA and AXIS advantageous.
• Able to work under business pressure with agility.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication.

Responsibilities

• Conduct and complete experience studies via AXIS for treaties/products with regional coordination.
• Support Solvency II, IFRS and Local Statutory reporting with timely submissions.
• Monitor experience, analyse treaty performance, and review assumptions.
• Perform AXIS model conversions for selected treaties and coordinate review.
• Maintain valuation data, models and processes with proper documentation.
• Ensure treaties are accurately set up and reported; support annual surplus sharing.
• Assist TA-L Life with bordereaux, statements and quarterly closing input.
• Support client management in performance analysis and prognosis updates.
• Undertake ad hoc actuarial projects and client consulting as needed.
• Keep up-to-date with IFRS17 and market developments across takaful markets.
