Job summary

KPJ Selangor Specialist Hospital is seeking a Senior Sonographer to perform a full range of diagnostic ultrasound examinations and supervise junior staff. You will ensure high-quality imaging, patient safety, and efficient workflow within the radiology unit.

The role requires independent clinical judgement, adherence to KPJ policies, and mentoring of younger team members while upholding infection control standards and quality assurance across all ultrasound services.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Medical Imaging or equivalent.
• Advance Diploma in Medical Ultrasonography.
• Registered under Act 304 and Allied Health Professions Act 774.

Responsibilities

• Perform full range of diagnostic ultrasound examinations per approved protocols.
• Produce, evaluate, and submit sonographic images with labeling and documentation.
• Educate patients by obtaining history, explaining procedures, ensuring comfort and privacy.
• Identify abnormal findings and alert radiologist or consultant promptly.
• Operate and maintain ultrasound equipment; escalate technical issues as needed.
• Ensure strict infection prevention and control for ultrasound rooms and probes.
• Plan workflow and scheduling to ensure efficient daily operations.
