Job summary

RGA in Kuala Lumpur seeks an experienced Senior Treaty Specialist to draft, review, and negotiate complex reinsurance treaties and related contracts across Southeast Asia. You will ensure regulatory compliance, govern treaty processes, and provide guidance on risk interpretation and governance considerations.

The role requires 7+ years in drafting commercial contracts, strong English communication, and leadership abilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Law, Art, Science, or equivalent.
• At least 7 years drafting commercial contracts and negotiating terms.
• Experience in financial services or re/insurance contracts is a plus.
• Strong written and spoken English with persuasive communication.
• Ability to manage timelines, priorities, and work independently.
• Managerial experience preferred.
• Discretion in handling confidential information.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and contract management/workflow systems.

Responsibilities

• Draft, review and negotiate complex reinsurance treaties and related contracts.
• Evaluate treaties and resolve inconsistencies to protect RGA interests.
• Ensure regulatory compliance and effective treaty governance.
• Stay updated on market trends and regulatory developments.
• Lead junior treaty specialists and oversee performance.
• Collaborate with clients and internal departments across SEA markets.
