Job summary

SYSTRA SA is seeking an experienced Senior Traffic Engineer to join our Malaysia-based team. The role covers domestic work and SE Asia markets, leading projects and applying traffic engineering principles across multiple studies and management plans.

The candidate will work with CAD, GIS, SIDRA, and simulation software, guiding others in software usage and technical tasks while liaising with clients and stakeholders to ensure project success.

Qualifications

• 8–10 years of experience in applying traffic engineering principles such as traffic assessment studies, development advisory studies, and temporary traffic management plans.
• Proficient with CAD, GIS, SIDRA, simulation software and Microsoft tools.
• Ability to work in a team and guide others in the use of software and related tasks.
• Degree in Civil/Traffic Engineering or other related disciplines; Master’s degree will be considered favourably.

Responsibilities

• Lead traffic engineering projects in Malaysia and across SE Asia.
• Apply traffic engineering principles in studies and advisory work.
• Develop and review temporary traffic management plans and related tasks.
• Liaise with clients, stakeholders, and partners on project requirements and coordination.
• Provide technical expertise in traffic engineering.

The role involves leading projects including experience with the application of traffic engineering principles such as traffic assessment studies, development advisory studies, temporary traffic management plans etc.

Key responsibilities

Apply traffic engineering principles such as traffic assessment studies, development advisory studies, temporary traffic management plans

Work with software tools including CAD, GIS, SIDRA, simulation software and Microsoft tools

Work as part of an integrated team and guide others in the use of software and related works

Perform and lead related analytical tasks in traffic engineering

Independently carry out task or project management

Liaise effectively with clients, stakeholders and partners on project requirements, expectations and coordination

Provide technical expertise in traffic engineering

About you

Between 8-10 years' experience with the application of traffic engineering principles such as traffic assessment studies, development advisory studies, temporary traffic management plans

Working knowledge of software tools including CAD, GIS, SIDRA, simulation software and Microsoft tools

Ability to work in a team and guide others in the use of software and works

Well-versed in the latest techniques and trends

Degree Holder in related disciplines: Civil/Traffic Engineering, Mathematics, Urban Planning/Design, Geography or equivalent

Master's Degree will be considered favourably

Good Communication (written & spoken) skills in English
