Job summary

Celestica is seeking a Lead Thermal Test Engineer in Penang, Malaysia to validate the thermal design and testing of IT equipment including servers, storage, and switches. You will set up thermal test environments, run wind tunnel and temperature tests, analyze data, and document comprehensive test plans and reports.

Requirements include a Bachelor's degree in Thermal Engineering and at least five years of relevant experience; experience with IR cameras, data loggers, and heat-transfer knowledge

Qualifications

• B.S. or above in Thermal Engineering or equivalent is required.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in thermal design & test validation of electronic product; server/storage/switch product experience preferred.
• Familiar with thermal measurement technology and tools such as temperature data logger, IR camera, wind-tunnel, etc.
• Familiar with fluid dynamics and heat transfer knowledge.
• Familiar with thermal parts including heat sink, TIM, air movers, etc.
• Hands on experience validating test of various fan speed control algorithms and over temperature protection mechanisms.
• Good skills in thermal test data analysis and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for thermal test validation of IT equipment including server/storage/switch products.
• Set up thermal test environment and execute the thermal tests including wind-tunnel and temperature tests.
• Work with other function teams to resolve thermal issues.
• Document comprehensive thermal test plan and report.
