Job summary

Micron Technology, Inc. in Penang, Malaysia, is seeking a technically skilled technician to troubleshoot electro-mechanical manufacturing equipment. You will dismantle, repair, and assemble machinery according to diagrams and manuals, ensuring smooth production ramp-up and sustained uptime.

Proficiency in AI-enabled tools is a plus. The role requires a Diploma in Mechanical or Electronics/Electrical Engineering and at least 1 year of related experience, with strong teamwork and communication

Qualifications

• Diploma in mechanical engineering or electronic/electrical engineering.
• More than 1 year of working experience encouraged to apply.
• Good understanding of Semiconductor Testing equipment processes.
• A good teammate with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Familiarity with manufacturing systems, data analysis, programming, or AI applications is a plus.
• Experience using Generative AI, AI Assistant, or other AI-enabled tools is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs electrical or mechanical troubleshooting to determine problems in non-functioning electro-mechanical equipment used in the manufacturing process
• Dismantles, adjusts, repairs and assembles equipment according to layout plans, blueprints, operating or repair manuals, rough sketches or drawings
• Uses test and diagnostic equipment to perform checkouts.
• Rebuilds manufacturing equipment as required
• May perform equipment modifications as directed by engineers.
• Responsible for Test equipment transfer, setup and buyoff, and support for manufacturing ramp up
• Responsible for sustain equipment uptime, with hand on trouble shooting on the equipment
• Perform and complete the scheduled PM as per plan
• Perform equipment setup, buyoff, and conversion
• Work on spare part/tools/meters management
