Job summary

Micron Technology, Inc. is seeking a diploma-equipped technician to troubleshoot and repair electro-mechanical manufacturing equipment in Penang. You will dismantle, adjust, repair, and assemble equipment per plans, using diagnostics and test equipment to drive reliable production.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Mechanical or Electronic/Electrical Engineering required.
• 1+ year of experience is encouraged.
• Good understanding of semiconductor testing equipment.
• Hands-on experience is a plus.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Familiarity with manufacturing systems, data analysis, programming, or AI applications is a plus.
• Experience using Generative AI or AI-enabled tools is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs electrical or mechanical troubleshooting to determine problems in non-functioning electro-mechanical equipment used in the manufacturing process.
• Dismantles, adjusts, repairs and assembles equipment according to layout plans, blueprints, operating or repair manuals, rough sketches or drawings.
• Uses test and diagnostic equipment to perform checkouts.
• Rebuilds manufacturing equipment as required.
• May perform equipment modifications as directed by engineers.
• Responsible for Test equipment transfer, setup and buyoff, and support for manufacturing ramp up.
• Responsible for sustain equipment uptime, with hand on trouble shooting on the equipment.
• Perform and complete the scheduled PM as per plan.
• Perform equipment setup, buyoff, and conversion.
• Work on spare part/tools/meters management.
