Job summary

Private Advertiser in Kulai, Johor seeks an experienced Test Engineer to operate ICT/FCT test equipment, monitor burn-in, and prepare test cases for functional, performance, and reliability tests. You will maintain testing systems, troubleshoot issues, and collaborate with Production, Engineering, and Quality teams to ensure product conformance to specifications.

• Minimum 5 years of experience in electronic testing within electronics manufacturing.
• Solid knowledge of electronic circuits and testing processes.

• Detail-oriented with high accuracy and able to work with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Run ICT/FCT test equipment and ensure relevant test software is functioning correctly.
• Monitor Burn-In, ICT/FCT equipment, and test programs for smooth operation.
• Prepare test cases for functional, performance, and reliability requirements.
• Arrange and follow up on testing system maintenance and servicing.
• Carry out product testing according to required specifications and procedures.
• Perform functional, signal, and environmental testing to verify product performance.
• Discuss testing requirements and methods with customers when necessary.
• Carry out scheduled maintenance and calibration for testing equipment and tools.
• Check and rectify equipment problems to keep testing activities running smoothly.
• Support setup, installation, testing, and validation of equipment for product transfer.
• Assist in resolving issues related to test equipment, software, and test systems.
• Assist with equipment improvements, modifications, and test program changes.
• Prepare test plans, programming requirements, and cost quotations for NPI and equipment improvement projects.
• Coordinate with suppliers for equipment servicing, programming, and installation of new testing equipment.
• Investigate problems encountered during product testing and provide solutions.
• Examine test data and failure information to identify the source of problems.
• Improve testing methods to increase productivity, accuracy, and product reliability.
• Work with relevant departments to resolve technical issues and improve processes.
• Support the development of automated testing methods to improve testing speed and accuracy.
• Check and debug failed products to determine failure reasons.
• Develop, update, and maintain ICT/FCT test programs and systems.
• Assist team members with debugging and troubleshooting techniques.
• Follow up on corrective actions based on test failures and analysis results.
• Keep proper records of test procedures, results, failures, and defects.
• Prepare testing reports and highlight issues and improvement opportunities.
• Update and maintain calibration and equipment monitoring records.
• Ensure testing activities meet company procedures, quality standards, and customer requirements.

5. Documentation & Reporting

Assist with audits related to testing equipment and processes.

Support activities to improve test coverage and prevent recurring defects.

7. Others

Provide assistance to Production, Engineering, Quality, and other departments on testing matters.

Support NPI, product transfer, and other testing-related projects.

Carry out other duties assigned by the supervisor or management.

Requirement

Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a relevant engineering field.

At least 5 years of experience in electronic testing or a related position in the electronics manufacturing sector.

Sound knowledge of electronic circuits, testing processes, and fault-finding methods.

Experience in handling various test and programming equipment.

Able to communicate effectively with different departments, customers, and external parties.

Careful and detail-focused, with good attention to work accuracy.

Capable of working with minimal supervision as well as within a team.

Good command of spoken and written English and Bahasa Malaysia.
