Job summary

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
• 8 to 10 years of technical project/product management, including delivery of digital applications and technology solutions.
• At least 3 to 5 years of experience in insurance, insurance broking, or a closely related regulated financial-services environment.
• Demonstrated experience managing design and development of applications.
• Strong experience leading vendor product implementations and systems integration.
• Experience in product ownership/product management, including roadmaps and post-implementation lifecycle.
• Good understanding of APIs, integrations, cloud, data and security concepts.
• Experience with Agile and hybrid delivery models.
• Strong vendor, stakeholder and senior management engagement skills across Asia and global teams.

Job description

Lead the end-to-end delivery and product ownership of digital and technology solutions across Asia, combining technical project management, vendor implementation and ongoing product management. Partner with business, technology, and vendors to deliver in-house and third-party solutions from discovery through implementation and continuous improvement, aligned with global standards and regional needs. This is a direct, full-time AVP role based in Malaysia with periodic regional travel.

Key Responsibilities:

• Business engagement and solution shaping: Partner with business stakeholders to understand the business requirements and translate ambiguous business needs into clearly defined technology requirements, user journeys, product capabilities and delivery plans. Work with architecture, security, data, integration and engineering teams to evaluate solution options and define appropriate technical approaches.
• Technical Project & Delivery Management: Lead end-to-end delivery of digital solutions from concept through design, development, testing, deployment and stabilisation. Develop and manage integrated project plans, milestones, dependencies, resources, risks and budgets. Ensure solutions meet agreed requirements for architecture, integration, data, cybersecurity, privacy and operational support.
• Digital Solutions Development: Manage delivery of internally developed or configured digital solutions, including web, mobile, workflow, automation, data and AI-enabled solutions where applicable.
• Solution Implementation & Adoption: Lead the implementation and regional adoption of vendor, global and international technology solutions, managing the journey from evaluation and planning through integration, testing and go-live. Bring together business, technology and vendor teams to manage dependencies and risks, and ensure solutions are effectively integrated and adopted across the region.
• Product Ownership: Own the product beyond go-live, driving adoption, prioritisation and continuous improvement. Partner with business and technology teams to shape the roadmap, manage enhancements and ensure solutions continue to deliver value as regional needs evolve.
• Stakeholder & Delivery Leadership: Act as the bridge between business, regional and global technology teams, bringing stakeholders together to drive decisions, manage priorities and resolve delivery challenges. Provide clear visibility of progress, risks and dependencies, ensuring alignment and accountability from concept through delivery and ongoing product evolution.
• Design Oversight: Apply technical expertise to challenge and validate solution design, architecture and key technical decisions, working closely with architects and engineering teams to ensure solutions are fit for purpose and meet business and technology requirements.

To be successful in this role, you will take ownership of delivering high-quality, fit-for-purpose technology solutions from design through to implementation and adoption. You will work closely with business, technology and vendor partners to drive strong stakeholder alignment, effective regional adoption and measurable business value, while proactively managing risks and dependencies.

Requirements:

• 8 to 10 years of technical project/product management, including delivery of digital applications and technology solutions.
• At least 3 to 5 years of experience in insurance, insurance broking, or a closely related regulated financial-services environment. Experience with insurance broking platforms, policy administration, claims, CRM, document management, workflow, client portals, or market integration solutions will be highly preferred.
• Demonstrated experience managing the design and development of applications
• Strong experience leading vendor product implementations and systems integration.
• Experience in product ownership/product management, including roadmaps, prioritisation and post-implementation lifecycle management.
• Good understanding of application architecture, APIs, integrations, cloud platforms, data and security concepts.
• Experience working with Agile and hybrid delivery models.
• Strong vendor, stakeholder and senior management engagement skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across countries and cultures in Asia and with global technology teams.
• Comfortable working hands-on in an evolving technology environment, with the opportunity to shape processes and play an active role in the continued growth of the technology function.
• Relevant project, Agile or product management certifications such as PMP, PRINCE2, Scrum, SAFe or equivalent is highly advantageous.
