Job summary

Emerson in Penang, Malaysia seeks a software engineer to unleash the value of systems and hardware through drivers, software, or firmware. You will design and test software features for new and existing products and drive software excellence across teams.

Requires a BS/MS in CS/CE/EE, 5+ years, strong C/C++, OO, and experience with Windows driver or Linux kernel development. Hybrid work and cross‑group collaboration are expected.

Qualifications

• B.S. or M.S. in computer science and/or computer engineering and/or electrical engineering.
• Strong understanding of computers and high-level programming languages (C/C++).
• More than 5 years of experience is required.
• Software design and architecture principles, OO programming, hardware or systems programming, computer architecture and OS.
• Experience in Windows driver development and Linux kernel mode/user mode driver development is a plus.
• Familiarity with debugging tools (WinDBG) and unit testing.
• Scripting languages such as Python; Agile development methodologies.
