Job summary

Bosch Malaysia is seeking an embedded software engineer to contribute to product software development in Penang. You will work on design, coding, testing, and integration for embedded targets, collaborating with a project team to meet customer and internal requirements.

The role demands hands-on experience with C/C++, Linux embedded environments, and debugging tools, plus the ability to read schematics and data sheets. Strong communication skills are essential for cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or Computer Engineering/Science.
• Proven working experience in embedded software engineering.
• Hands-on development and troubleshooting on embedded targets.
• Solid programming experience in C, C++ or object oriented programming.
• Experience in Linux embedded development with cross-compiling, Yocto/Debian build system, Linux file system, GDB and Bash scripts.
• Knowledge of Linux driver porting and Kernel device tree.
• Ability to read schematics and data sheets for components.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate as project team member on software design matters.
• Capture and evaluate customer, internal requirements and vehicle-specific interface requirements.
• Perform requirement reviews, design reviews and code reviews.
• Perform unit testing and release of software according to SW release process.
• Develop SW design with dependencies and system integration in mind.
• Program software using standard and proprietary tools and libraries.
• Create SW test specifications and protocols; develop test SW as needed.
• Analyze failure logs, clarify system problems and resolve design issues.
• Develop and produce technical reports and documentation in support of designs.
• Provide post-production support and assist manufacturing with troubleshooting.
