Job summary

Supermicro is seeking a Senior Supplier Quality Engineer in Malaysia to strengthen supplier performance, improve material reliability, and sustain overall manufacturing quality. You will manage supplier-related defects, lead preliminary failure analysis, and coordinate timely feedback and corrective actions with suppliers.

You will oversee supplier improvement progress, validate corrective actions, and support audits (QPA/QSA) to ensure alignment with quality expectations.

Qualifications

• Extensive supplier quality management experience in computer/electronics manufacturing and IQC materials inspection.
• Proficiency with PC and common office software; able to perform data analysis and prepare reports.
• Multilingual in English and Malay; Chinese proficiency is an added advantage for stakeholders.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with working knowledge of 8D methods.
• Familiarity with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 13485 or other relevant QMS standards.
• Ability to train and mentor junior technicians to promote continuous improvement.
• Exposure to IPC-A-600, IPC-A-610, sampling plans, ESD, and MSD standards is beneficial.
• Experience in EMS PCBA environments (SMT, DIP, Assembly, Testing, Packing).
• Basic knowledge of electronic components, PCB materials, connectors, heat sinks, plastics, or mechanical parts.

Responsibilities

• Handle quality defects of materials related to supplier quality and drive timely feedback.
• Overlap with supplier quality to lead preliminary failure analysis and root cause reviews.
• Track supplier improvement progress and validate effectiveness of corrective actions.
• Coordinate supplier audits (QPA/QSA) and provide counseling when needed.
• Support IQC operations, material specifications, and technical QA support.
• Generate quality reports and monitor KPI performance with CIP initiatives.
• Provide customer quality assurance support and drive CAR/FA/8D reports.
