Job summary

Supermicro is seeking a Senior Supplier Quality Engineer in Malaysia to strengthen supplier performance and material reliability. You will manage supplier-related defects, drive preliminary failure analysis, and coordinate corrective actions with suppliers across IQC and PCBA processes.

You will lead supplier audits (QPA/QSA), track improvement progress, and mentor junior staff while ensuring ISO/QMS alignment and quality KPI delivery.

Qualifications

• Extensive Supplier Quality Management (SQM) experience in electronics/PCBA manufacturing.
• Proficiency with PC and common office software, data analysis, and report preparation.
• Multilingual: English and Malay; Chinese skills beneficial for stakeholders.
• Strong analytical/problem-solving using 8D methods for root cause and corrective actions.
• Familiarity with ISO 9001/14001/13485 or related QMS.
• Ability to train/mentor junior technicians and promote continuous improvement.
• Exposure to IPC-A-600, IPC-A-610, sampling plans, ESD, MSD.
• Experience in EMS PCBA environments (SMT, DIP, Assembly, Testing, Packing).
• Knowledge of electronic components, PCB materials, connectors, heat sinks, plastics.

Responsibilities

• Handle quality defects in materials and coordinate feedback to suppliers.
• Lead preliminary failure analysis and root-cause data collection.
• Track supplier improvement progress and validate corrective actions.
• Conduct supplier audits (QPA/QSA) and provide counseling as needed.
• Assist buyers with system, PCBA and material quality support.
• Support IQC operations and material specification confirmation.
• Prepare quality reports, KPIs, CIP, and drive CAR/FA/8D processes.
• Provide customer quality assurance services and closure of quality issues.
