Job summary

Randstad – Renesas is seeking a Sr Staff Software Engineer for Operations Software & Tools in Malaysia. You will design, build, and deploy custom software and automation for the factory floor, integrating MES and equipment with SECS/GEM, and manage global rollout with cross-functional teams.

Ideal candidates bring 8–10 years of software/engineering experience in semiconductor or factory ops, strong automation and toolchain skills, and experience with Docker/Kubernetes, JIRA and Confluence.

Qualifications

Bachelor's in CS or related field or equivalent experience.
8–10 years in software development/engineering (semiconductor or factory-ops preferred).
Hands-on factory-automation / equipment-integration — MES & SECS/GEM connectivity.
Good to have: broader toolchain knowledge and shop-floor interfaces.

Responsibilities

Build and maintain custom software tools and automation for Operations Engineering and the manufacturing floor.
Integrate shop-floor equipment and MES via SECS/GEM for connectivity, tool control, and real-time monitoring.
Develop and deploy containerized apps (Docker/Kubernetes) connecting operations systems and PMO workflows.
Drive end-to-end projects: scope, schedule, risk, resourcing with cross-functional stakeholders.
Define and improve engineering and project-management processes and standards.
