Job summary

Renesas Electronics in Malaysia is seeking a Sr Staff Software Engineer (Operations Software & Tools) to design and deliver custom software and automation for Operations Engineering and manufacturing floor, integrating with MES and equipment.

You will containerize applications with Docker/Kubernetes, drive end-to-end rollout with cross-functional teams, and help improve engineering processes while collaborating with IT and vendors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
• 8–10 years of software development/engineering experience in semiconductor or factory-operations.
• Strong fundamentals in Windows and Linux; proficient in Python and C/C++.
• Hands-on MES integration and equipment connectivity via SECS/GEM.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain custom software tools and automation for Operations Engineering and production floors.
• Integrate shop-floor equipment and MES via SECS/GEM for connectivity and real-time monitoring.
• Develop and deploy containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Drive projects end-to-end: scope, schedule, risk, and stakeholder coordination.
